I’d like for all of you to meet my editor. Her name is Kelda. In addition to being an incredible teacher, Kelda proofreads every single one of my posts that you read. She often asks valuable questions that help me distill down my scientific explanations.
Next weekend, I’m going to marry her. We’ve grown up together, having known each other since we were two high school students in Seattle. She’s my editor, my best friend, and will soon by my wife.
I’ll be taking a brief hiatus until the middle of July for our wedding and honeymoon. I wrote an essay for this weekend and decided to wait to share it. This was the first time I’ve decided to do this. It’s a set of ideas I feel very strongly about, and I want to sit with them in order to be able to share them in the best way possible.
I’ve now written over 60,000 words for this newsletter. I’m excited to spend a few weeks with Kelda and our families, and to recharge my batteries away from the Internet.
I’ve never been more excited about my own scientific research, this newsletter, or the opportunity I have to invest in cutting-edge companies building the future of biotech. Lots of ideas, science, and stories are on the way!
Until then, I’ll be celebrating life, and love.
Until next time 🧬
Congratulations Elliot and Kelda! All the best on the wedding and honeymoon — looking forward to hearing from you after you recharge :D
I wish you and Kelda a great wedding and a happy life!
